Paying Case Manager/Income Withholding Specialist

Position Description: This Paying Case Manager/Income Withholding Specialist is responsible for monitoring cases that are in paying status.  This requires monthly reviews and early intervention in order to address non-compliance issues timely.  The position is also responsible for following up on income withholding orders issued across the office, and contacting employers directly when payments are not received as expected.  This role is designed to work collaboratively with noncustodial parents to establish positive payment patterns and to encourage communication when barriers to payment occur.  This individual reports to the Team Leader.  

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monitor cases for compliance
  • Analyze case information and take next steps pursuant to State policies and procedures
  • Issue income withholdings to employers
  • Monitor income withholdings for compliance
  • Perform annual reviews for assigned paying cases
  • Work system prompts to keep case information current and support automated case actions
  • Respond to case inquiries by phone, mail, or email
  • Track own performance through special reports
  • Meet the case processing timeframes required be federal regulations
  • Perform related duties as required

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least one year’s experience in legal, government services, or similar office preferred
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proven and effective communication skills focused on relationship building
